A Beautiful Day

After dropping Terry at the airport, I had to go to Silver Lake to Tommy & Trevor's, so Tommy could do a touch up on my hair. Trevor was not working and really wanted to show me around the neighborhood. We have been to their place several times and they have brought wonderful goods from the stores in Silver Lake but, I had never actually walked around. I know they love living there and now I know why. It is such a cool and funky neighborhood. It really has a community feel to it. Something I wish we had more of here in NOHO. I know when they were doing the whole redevelopment thing a few years ago it was suppose to become more of a community, an Art's community, but we are far from that at this time.

LOOK AT ALL THAT BEAUTIFUL CHEESE!
We started out at THE CHEESE SHOP. I could really do some damage here! Luckily Terry is out of town and I'm supper busy this week. I didn't want to buy some wonderful cheese to have it just sit in my frig.

Now I know where to go some of my specialty food items. The bonus is the guys live right up the street.

Trevor at THE CHEESE SHOP

WHY DIDN'T I BUY THIS? IT'S ROSE AND IT'S NAMED HOG WASH!

Now I have a place for those specialty items that are hard to find.

I just liked the label. I don't even know what kind of wine it was.

Just because, Becca is one of my nick names. I'm not really sure what kind of store this was. I do know they have a Ukulele Orchestra that Trevor wants do get into once he gets his chops on his down!

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN SO MANY BITTERS?

THE BAR KEEPER Store Front. How funky is that?

We then moved onto THE BAR KEEPER. I guess that is guys real last name! How crazy is that? He is also a very nice guy. I did do some damage here. Since I am trying to come up with cocktail recipes for my cocktail appetizer cookbook to go with my jazz/blues cd I bought some bitters I'd never seen before like Yuzu, Plum & Sour Cherry. I also bought some vermouth he recommended. Oh and I  bought you a new jigger honey. Now can you please, settle down when you misplace your current one, haha.....

Trevor at the entrance to The Spice & Tea Shop
We then moved onto THE SPICE STATION. Tommy & Trevor have been sweet enough to bring me spices from here but I'd never been to the store. They also have tea's and a little tea room just behind Trevor.
As you can see, it is down in this little hidden alleyway. I was pretty good here. I bought some salt mix blends, WHO DAT SALT BLEND & MERLOT SALT, And some sugars, again for drink idea's, LEMON SUGAR, HABANERO SUGAR, GINGER SUGAR.
We also met a really great guy that worked there, named Anthony who lives by me! He is also doing a dinner club! He's involved in an Underground Event that is going to raise money for The JAMIE OLIVER FOUNDATION. I'll be blogging and posting more about it as I learn the details.

Beautiful Fountain facing the entrance to the Spice Station.

Wow! Who'd have known, this little Oasis tucked in off the street. This arbor sitting area is right out side of The Spice Station  store entrance.

Trevor's already in the store scoping out what he is going to buy.

Look at all those spices! I feel hot!

THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL DAY, MY BEAUTIFUL FRIEND.
